Do you want to start your own costume character company?

Happily Ever Parties was founded in January of 2013 and has booked more than 1500 characters since that date. 

If you are interested in starting your own costume character business, we can help you get started.

There is a book available that you can purchase for $15.99 which covers all of the steps that we took to get the business started in the first year. 

If you are interested in more help and guidance, we can offer that as well.

(You must not be located in Texas, as that is our primary business location).

Available Opportunities

Our business model is specialized around princess party characters, so that is the way we have this set up.  You can expand into other areas, but this is the area of our expertise.


There are several different options available.  What works for you will depend on several factors, including your start-up budget & how much you want to do for yourself, initially & how much you want done for you.


You will need to be aware that growing a business of this nature takes time, money and commitment.  You will have to put more time & money into it than you take out of it, for a period of time, to get things up and running. 


It took me 2-1/2 years to be able to earn enough money to be able to quit my full time day job.   You need to have enough money to invest in start-up costs and to be able to work at it part-time, as needed.


You will need a primary source of income while you are building the business.  You cannot view this as money that you will live on, when you are starting out. 


You will be shelling out upfront money for insurance, costumes, supplies, advertising & etc.  When you make some money back by booking parties, you will need to be able to re-invest that money into additional costumes, supplies & advertising. 


The more characters you can offer the more money you will be able to earn.  Many costs will be recurring purchases, as things will get broken, wear out or get used up.  So, most of your expenses won’t be just a one-time cost.  You will need to accumulate & replace things over a period of time, in order to grow.


The start-up will be slow.  It takes time for your web sites to move to the top of the internet links.  It takes time to establish the credibility and get the repeat and word-of-mouth clients.  It takes time to get enough costumes, supplies & people accumulated & to book regular events.


This is a volume business.  You make the most money by booking the highest volume of events.  It takes time to build a volume business.

Package 1 - Beginner - $500

Package includes:
1) A copy of the book

2) A business/advertising page set up for you on a party-booking web site (free level, not premium level - you can upgrade it later, if you like, or leave it as is) in your area, with a photo of a person in the costume.  (The photo will not be the professional/copyrighted ones, because those are contracted with the photographer for our company only).  Through this page, you will be able to promote your business, quote events, book events, accept payments and take reviews.
This will be set up in your name with your information and you will be able to take over this page, change the password and control/edit the page completely once it has been set up for you.
3) One Professional Princess Party Character Costume with Wig and Jewelry/Accessories.
4) CDs including party music, singalong music, dance music and some karaoke songs for characters.

 

Package 2 - Intermediate - $1000
Package includes:
1) A copy of the book.
2) One business/advertising page set up for you on a party-booking web sites (free level, not premium level) in your area with costume photos. (The photos will not be the professional/copyrighted ones, because those are contracted with the photographer for our company only). 
Through this page, you will be able to promote your business, quote events, book, events, accept payments and take reviews.
This page will be set up in your name with your information and you will be able to take over the page, change the passwords and control the page completely once it has been set up for you.
3) Two Professional Princess Party Character Costumes with Wigs and Jewelry/Accessories.
4)  CDs including party music, singalong music, dance music and some karaoke songs for characters.
5) Supplies and training materials for basic Face Painting
6) Supplies and training materials for basic Balloon Twisting.
7) Enough temporary tattoos for several small parties
8) Story book for each of the two characters
9) 1 box of business cards

 

3)  Package 3 – Advanced/Mentorship- $2500 

Package includes:
1) A copy of the book
2) One business/advertising page set up for you on a party-booking web site (free level, not premium level) in your area with costume photos. (The photos will not be the professional/copyrighted ones, because those are contracted with the photographer for our company only). 
Through this page, you will be able to promote your business, quote events, book, events, accept payments and take reviews.
This page will be set up in your name with your information and you will be able to take over the page, change the passwords and control the page completely once it has been set up for you.
3)Two Professional Princess Party Character Costumes with Wigs and Jewelry/Accessories.
4)  CDs including party music, singalong music, dance music and some karaoke songs for characters.

10) Mentorship/guidance/consulting for 1 year.   This would include a reasonable amount of regular email support & guidance for 1 year to cover every question you might have and give you recommendations for products & supplies & characters, how to recruit staff, how to set prices & suggestions for dealing with any issues that arise.

 

Package 4 – Franchise - $5000 1st year set up ($1000 per year to renew after 1st year).

A Franchise arrangement is the riskiest for us, because of the possibility of damage to the established reputation of the company.  That is why a Franchise is the most expensive option, currently set at $5,000. 

This would be for the purchase of the right to use the company name, copyrighted photos and methods of business, as well as mentoring advice and consulting.

 You would still have to pay for your own costumes, supplies, insurance & etc.  Some web site support & set up would be included.

You would need to be able to pass a background check and sign a detailed contract. 

This does not include any legal support, insurance or tax support.  You would be on your own for these items.
